SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS:
HOUSING:
Our headquarters will be in Alice Cook House, one of the new lower West campus dorms. Alice Cook is air conditioned and has many positive features, e.g. a good sized dining room. Alice Cook was not designed for reunions. Consequently, most of the rooms are singles. We will work to maximize everyone’s comfort within the physical constraints of the facility. There will also be some rooms in off-campus motels for those who would prefer that location; the Super 8 near Wegmans is suggested as a low-budget location and the Marriott Courtyard as a higher-end location. The University block of rooms will be announced and available in late October.
WINE & DINE:
Meeting, greeting, eating and learning will be an active part of our reunion. Over the 3 days of the reunion we will have the following receptions/dinners
Thursday Welcome Reception and Dinner at Alice Cook House
Friday Reception, Dinner and Dancing will be at the spacious Alice Cook House featuring The Backtalk Band for your listening and dancing pleasure.
Saturday will be highlighted by a Reception and Dinner at the spectacular Milstein Hall, the home of Architecture, Art and Planning. Included will be the Class Artists Exhibit in the Bibliowicz Gallery.
Breakfast will be served each morning in the dining room in Alice Cook House.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
This year we are organizing a Symposium featuring a Cornell faculty luminary; specific arrangements are being finalized.
Another very special event will be a Refiring Reunion Workshop conducted by Ken and Margie Blanchard. Margie and Ken believe that Refiring is a process where the primary focus is not on career advancement, financial gain, or specific types of achievements. Rather, it is about healthy living; warm and significant relationships; continued learning and cognitive growth; vitality and meaningful involvement; and the development of a personal sense of spirituality.
Of course we will have the class photo and plenty of time for networking.
Importantly, there will also be University wide events featuring the University President, the Glee Club, special lectures and the famous beer tents.
ITEMS:
Please forward any and all ideas, comments, suggestions or questions to Neil Schilke
